Responsibility
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health, emotional well-being, and any specific challenges they may be facing.
- Evaluate clients' strengths, weaknesses, and needs to create personalized treatment plans.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to address clients' concerns and help them navigate challenges.
- Be prepared to handle crisis situations and provide immediate intervention when necessary.
- Apply a variety of counseling approaches and techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based therapies.
- Demonstrate empathy and active listening skills to establish a trusting and therapeutic relationship with clients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client cases and treatment strategies.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress, sessions, and treatment plans.
- Educate clients about mental health, coping mechanisms, and strategies for self-improvement.
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- State licensure or certification as a mental health professional (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist).
- Specialized training in therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or other evidence-based practices.
- Demonstrated experience in providing therapy and counseling services, preferably in a caregiving or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Adherence to a strong code of ethics, ensuring client confidentiality, informed consent, and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Ability to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals who may have experienced trauma.
